Our Mission

The mission of The RMP Group is to learn, discuss, share and implement ideas and solutions for greater net impact. Established in 2009 by Richard Maurice Powell, The RMP Group (RMPG) began by consulting and sharing his personal and professional experiences with friends and family. Whether they were his insights from years of investing in supply chain companies and fixed assets or sharing resources that he discovered from his involvement in organizations like the World Economic Forum and Young Global Leaders, Nexus Youth Summit, Young Presidents Organization or his Alma Mater network Harvard, Richard was always compelled to share, discuss and debate with others the ideas and solutions that he discovered along his journey.

In 2012 Richard took his desire to share one step further, and began writing his book on leadership titled “Luminaries: 15 Inspirational Leaders Who Will Change the World”. The book showcases the learnings from other global leaders, entrepreneurs, activists and athletes on how they overcame obstacles and achieved success.

The next leg of the journey is to change the landscape of giving and investing. The RMP Group has partnered with the Nexus Global Youth Summit to host the Nexus Caribbean Summit on Philanthropy in January 2015. Discussions on renewable energy in the Caribbean as well as stopping the brain drain created opportunities for collaboration from impact investment groups, philanthropists and non-profits.  RMP Group continues to assist in the growth of Minority and Women owned companies in the USA and Caribbean.

Due to our investment in and advisory to companies such as Rebuild Globally, Bajalia and Summit Container we have seen positive growth in their respective revenues as well as impact to local communities in terms of job growth and joint partnerships with Fortune 500 companies. Recent partnership with Rebuild Globally and Kenneth Cole resulted in revenue growth for the company as well as growth in operations for their facility in Haiti. Bajalia also was selected as a fair trade jewelry vendor aboard Carnival Cruise’s new cruise line “Fathom Cruises” which focuses on touring islands in the Caribbean with an opportunity to volunteer in local the local communities where the ship docks. Both of these opportunities were possible due to RMP’s involvement and investment in these companies and we look forward to more opportunities in the future.
